the loss of politeness
I. As an English speaking society we somehow expect a please and thank you.
But other countries will always have different sayings, languages, expressions and no experience of these two most pleasing words while they travel in Europe and beyond might be heard.
Certain countries have raised their English until they not only can order a pie, fries and beer but actually interact and become more.
Best example, if you can make a joke in your second language then the understanding of the language is proficient.
A joyful faced Russian, spending too many troubles from his hard earned wage might just order with an ugh
An American group, old and sweet as hell will only say “do you serve food” or an ambiguous “are you open.. serve them (if they are not sitting at the bar already and it high how are you. Not the info you need so replied with a customary good, fine etc whilst you need to pay the rent and want them to just order before you serve the next table.
Then it happens…your psycho chef says no change to the menu.
Americans then order.
Cheeseburger, sauce on side
Cheeseburger no tomato, sauce, avocado side
BBQ bacon burger, no cheese sauce on side cut in two share
Boom 💣 💥
Mostly enquiring about your health, payment time can we split it, no tip anger bye!
Chef hates you, last time he screams while he sits in the sun wondering maybe I need to work for more money elsewhere because I’m great while he hasn’t a clue to really cook. 😴
So please and danke, prasau and bedankt. Small words that mean so more than there size
Love to hear, one day maybe without going all Lennon it will happen? 🤫
